Well hello beautiful people!!! How ya doing? I hope this blog finds you blessed and safe. Since deciding to go natural, I've been thinking alot about changes in my life all across the board. Have you ever felt the need to just one day want to wake up & feel refreshed? Feeling like a brand new you? I believe for me, this natural hair journey will be the start of something new, not only with my hair but also shaping me as a whole from top to bottom. I am excited and I pray that God will take me thru this path and all other paths the most blessed and safest way.
Ok, so I must say that everyday I have become obsessed with doing constant research. My research consists of researhcing ingredients/products which are safe and unsafe for the hair. I will sooner or later post a blog, listing full details of some of the products/ingredients that are HELPFUL and HARMFUL to the hair. I will also conduct interviews with natural hair sistas and brothers who will state when and why they decided to go natural. If you think you'd like to be a part of this interview and would love for your picture and statement to be posted to my blog, please leave a comment below with your email address and I will contact you with more specific details. I would love for you to be apart of this. It is my goal to empower people about caring for their hair as I was empowered. I can honestly say that it wasn't until I decided to go natural that I found out some alarming information, things that made me gasp, like wow! Did I really use that in my hair? It's insane. It's sad to say that for over 10 years I haven't been taking care of my hair properly but as they say, better known now then later. I will take all of the information that I've gathered and apply it now and for the rest of my journey, and so on.
I don't think people really understand, just as I didn't, the chemicals and ingredients that can damage our hair. Upon doing my research, I discovered so many things. I am thankful of what I learned, and still learning. One of my other goals is not to try & convince people to go natural, but to make them aware of what helps the hair and what hinders the hair growth & weakens it. I can only speak from my own experiences and from the research that I've done.
My Current Hair Update: Currently, I am still rocking the kinky curly coil puff, whatever you wanna call it, lol. I am getting ready to change it to an afro peice. I am going to the Circle of Sistas on Saturday and wanna look my best. One year I went and I was AMAZED to see so many beautiful African-American men and women. It was a beautiful thing. Anyway, I am going to do a protective style for the entire month of November and December. The last week in December I will do my BC. I know it will still be winter and as cold as ice outside, but I will be sure to wrap my hair up everyday before I head out.
Ok lovely ones, until next time, stay blessed and beautiful.
